See the Forest for the Trees, Acrylic, 16x20

Trees are a central theme in my art practice. I often reference them in my writing as well. My community organizing and sociological work continually reminds me to "See the Forest for the Trees" and I channel that knowledge through this work. When's the last time you stood at the edge of the forest and then submerged yourself into the center? What did you see, or not see? Can we ever understand the vastness of nature and knowing?
