ARTIST BIO
Painting and drawing are my mother tongue. A language in which I can truly express my thoughts...even through chaos. Pushing mediums on a surface returns me to my embodiment and female intuition. Abstraction is how I dream of liberation and sovereignty on my canvas. The drip, the line, the circle, the brushstroke reveal patterns and networks. I wonder, what do you see and feel, sister?

ABOUT ME:
Greetings Sister! I'm Preeti P, painter, writer, and jill of many trades!
Born in NYC to American immigrant parents, raised in rural Pennsylvania, and a Philadelphia transplant since 2005, I bring my eclectic background into all that I do. My worldview is heavily informed by my years as an artist, feminist community organizer, violence prevention and workers' rights educator, anti-trafficking direct service volunteer, sociologist, technologist, food service worker, and avid traveler. What influences my thinking the most is the testimony and witnessing of women and girls I encounter throughout the world and their dreams for the Women's Liberation Movement, their dreams of female sovereignty.
Inspirations: Femaleness, Eclecticism, Nature, Travel, Words
